Lansinoh HPA Lanolin - for sore and cracked nipples caused by Breast Feeding

Lansinoh has been specifically developed for the treatment of sore and cracked nipples, caused by Breast Feeding. Lansinoh can also help with positioning and attachment while Breast Feeding (which is often the underlying cause of sore nipples).

How does Lansinoh work?

Lansinoh contains Lanolin, without including preservatives or additives of any kind. Lanolin has been used for more than 8000 years to give soft and smooth skin. Lansinoh works by the process of Moist Wound Healing (Moist Wound Healing increases the moisture content of the skin, reducing drying, promoting faster healing and reducing scar and scab formation). Sore and cracked nipples caused by Breast Feeding can be treated with Lansinoh Lanolin.

Studies reveal that Moist Wound Healing offers a soothing environment for sore and cracked nipples caused by Breast Feeding. With a moist wound, no scab is formed and healing is accelerated. Lansinoh coats the raw nerve endings caused by Breast Feeding, and can provide an immediate and soothing relief from painful or cracked nipples.

Lansinoh is taste and odour free, and contains no additives. This means that it is safe for you to continue breast feeding whilst using Lansinoh, and your baby will not be subjected to a foreign smell that may confuse.

Directions for use:

With clean hands, soften a small amount of Lansinoh between fingers and apply to entire nipple area after breast feeding, or as needed. Lansinoh Lanolin does not have to be removed prior to breastfeeding.

For your comfort, and to help protect sensitive nipples, you may also wish to apply Lansinoh before showering.

Lansinoh should be used in conjunction with addressing the cause of the soreness.

If soreness does not start to ease within 24 hours of commencing use of Lansinoh, or if the problem persists, the user should contact a Lactation Consultant, Breastfeeding Counsellor or their Health Care Professional.

Lansinoh Lanolin used by itself is not a treatment for sore nipples caused by thrush (Candida albicans) or a bacterial infection.

Lansinoh Lanolin can be used in conjunction with treatment for skin conditions. Unbroken skin is the best barrier to infection, however Lansinoh relieves dryness that can result in cracking and promotes healthy skin, it may prevent some secondary infections.
