it is not actually for a baby-----my wife has returned home after a spell in hospital, i can now potter about in the garden and listen to my wife when she calls!!brilliant piece of kit!!

I bought this monitor having already bought a Motorola monitor, which had turned out to be useless. I love the Tommee Tippee range as the quality of their products is always excellent, and this is no exception. The sensitivity can be turned up or down, so on the highest setting I can hear my baby breathing, which is reassuring with a newborn. The fact that the parent unit is re-chargeable means you can take it anywhere in the house without hunting for an empty plug socket! In summary, a great product I would highly recommend. Well worth the expense, the sound is completely clear, and no buzzing in the background! Really good to be able to speak to the children too. I like the talk-back facility and the room temperature display is useful. It's not overly sensitive so doesn't pick up every whimper but transmits clearly when the whimpers turn to a cry. the only things I didn't like about it is that whenever I want to turn it on or off I have to press on it for few seconds. I was looking around and found that G&D is the cheapest place to buy £34.99 while in England is around £54. The delivery was fast (3 days after I hit the checkout button).

One thing about the parent unit. By default it was set the sensitivity to 3 out of 5. The unit cut the signal out automatically if the baby unit's gone too quite. I had to raise it to 5 as my place is so quite.

Compared to other similar models this monitor was by far the best value. Great reception and no intereference. Allows us work in the garden during the day while the child naps. Only draw back is that the rechargable batteries in the handset are due to expire in 2013. (Posted on 15/10/2011)
