Our own reviews of the Glove Your Body Self-Tanning Mitt (Part 1)
We appreciate that the Glove Your Body Self Tanning Mitt carries a price tag that will make you think twice about buying it. Being honest - we were skeptical when we first saw the product ourselves - "How much for a tanning mitt?!"
But then we tried it, and fell in love with it!
We sent a number of the Glove Your Body Self Tanning Mitt to some of our sales assistants - dedicated self-tanners all - and asked them to anonymously give us their feedback on the product, using their own self-tan with it.
We've collected their replies and included them here (we'll post half in this post and the remaining half in a seperate post). We want to be completely honest in letting you see their feedback, and there are some slightly negative comments that we've included as well - we want to be 100% impartial.
On the whole our staff who tried the Glove Your Body Self-Tanning Mitt loved it, and many have gone on to buy it for themselves and recommended it to family and friends.
"The Glove Your Body Tanning Mitt is very easy to use and left no streaks. It feels much easier to apply your tan compared to a normal tanning mitt. It's great value for money as the mitt can be machine washed & tumble dried, meaning it can be reused so many times & it allows others to use it without cross-contamination. The design off the mitt is also stylish."
"FEEDBACK FROM STAFF HAS BEEN VERY GOOD ON THIS PRODUCT. EASY TO USE AND WASHES WELL. TWO MEMBERS OF STAFF HAVE SINCE BOUGHT THE GLOVE FOR THEMSELVES."
"The girls that have tried the tanning mitt absolutely loved it!! The only issue that a few of us had was that the tanning mit was quite big and bulky when applying tan to the hands and feet.
At the demonstration event we had in our store however we were shown tips on making this easier. Overall the feedback from the girls is very positive."
"It intensified the colour of tan on her legs especially, which is good as her legs do not normally take a good colour. Easy application. When washed and dried it returned to its original state had not warped or anything, and she used less tan to receive great results.
The only negative she had was the mitt is a bit too short in length and therefore had to be careful not to get tan on wrist. "
"HAD A STREAK FREE APPLICATION. WASHED WELL.
TOOK TOO LONG TO DRY. POORLY FITTED AT THE WRIST. OVER PRICED.
IF I WAS TO MARK OUT FOR 10 I WOULD GAVE IT A 6."
"We tried the sample mitt and could not believe how great it was!!
Being tan self tan addicts as we are we have tried every mitt on the market and this is by far the best we have ever tried!!
Our fave things about it are:
- - The finger sockets give so much more control, your hand doesn’t slip while you are applying the tan.
- - The texture of the mitt is so soft on the skin.
- - Machine washable it comes up like new, unlike mitts with foam backing which fall to pieces!!
- - The leopard print design is fun.
- - We found we used much less tanning product with the mitt.
- - And we loved the little travel bag for storing it in!!
We recommended it so highly that some of the other girls have purchased too and LOVE it."
"We enjoyed the soft texture of the mitt on our skin.It was a lot easier to use as the mitt did not slip your hand like the normal brands.it was streakfree and gave a lot more coverage which then took less time to apply. As it is also machine washable it will be more efficient and longer lasting which will benefit the customers long term."
On the whole we were delighted with the responses from our keen self-tanners - most loved the product and many of them have since bought it for themselves to use!
They did highlight a few negatives -
1) The Price. We know that this self-tanning mitt is expensive compared to other mitts. However - we've used it, and washed it, and tumble-dried it, and repeated this over and over a few times, and the Glove Your Body Mitt is still in perfect condition!
And you'll find that you use less of your tanning product with the mitt.
In both these ways you'll save a lot of money in the long run.
2) The only other major compaint we had was that the mitt is quite short when you are using the finger grips inside the mitt. We noticed this when using it ourselves - it doesn't completely cover your wrist.
However, most of us when we were using it were using the top of the mitt - where our fingers and hand would be - rather than down near our wrist. And, because the finger grips hold the mitt so well in your hand - it won't slide off and get self tan all over your hands.
In summary - we love this mitt, and we've found that most of our sales assistants who use self-tan regularly loved it to - so much so that they went and bought it for themselves! As with anything, not everyone will find it to their liking and we did have one or two slightly negative comments about the mitt. We feel though that the positives far outweight any negatives, and more than 9/10 of us didn't feel that there was anything wrong with it!
And, after selling hundreds of mitts in the month or so that we've had this item on our shelves, we're yet to have a customer come back to us with a complaint about it!
The mitt seems expensive, but try it and we believe you'll love it!
