Okay, so I have never used a face primer before. I always use a primer on my eyelids before doing my eye make-up, as I find it provides a flawless finish and it makes my eye make-up stay on for longer. I have no idea why I didn’t think to put this knowledge into use when applying my foundation...until now!
In work, there was a lot of hype about the Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer as it was going on a Flash Sale to celebrate 35 years of Gordons Chemists. I noticed a lot of buzz about this product on the Gordons Facebook page, which made me think, why have I NEVER thought of using a face primer? I decided for the sake of £2 it would definitely be worth trying, and it did not disappoint. It has definitely been the best £2 I’ve spent in a long time.
When first applied to my skin it feels instantly refreshing (which is always a good thing to try and wake me up in the morning). There is a light fragrance which I love, as I find heavily fragranced creams do cause my skin irritation. I purchased the Normal Skin Hydration Primer to suit my skin, and it works wonders. It provides instant hydration, especially when lightly applied under my eyes. This results in the application of my foundation going on evenly with flawless looking results. I find that under my eyes can be dehydrated at times (I’m blaming the air-conditioning in the office for this one) and it can make my foundation look quite cakey under the eye area. The primer provides a lovely even base so that make-up doesn’t build up.
I definitely would recommend this product to anyone who has never tried a face primer before. With the affordable price of £4.99, it definitely is worth it…and a little amount of this product goes along way. I find that my make-up now lasts all day during work, rather than wearing off.
